General Settings for the Warning Phases for Installed POI Types

Select POI-Manager > POI Settings > Acoustic Alert.

The POI type to be adjusted can be selected in the upper drop-down menu.

The "Warning Radius" is announced depending on the current vehicle speed. The POI-Warner assumes that the vehicle stays at a more or less constant speed. For example, it assumes that if the vehicle is moving at 50 km/h, it will cover 50 km in an hour; this determines how many meters before a POI the vehicle must be before the warning is issued.

Thus the user can use "Warning Radius" to choose the period for the first and the second (last) warning in seconds (before the POI is reached).

The angle determines the span of the angle in which the POI Warner is to detect POI. Thus, if an angle of 45° is selected, all POI will be announced that are no further than 22.5° to the left or the right of a supposed line in the driving direction and in the selected radius. If the chosen angle is too broad, this could lead to a false alarm if, for example, a monitored POI is situated in a street parallel to the one you are driving in.

Please note that as these settings can be made individually for each POI type, the changes will only be applied to the POI type currently selected. However, you do not have to press OK individually for each POI type to ensure that your settings are saved, as the individual settings for each type will be saved together when you have finished. Just click on OK once, when you are ready.
